Toni Hammett Worthy

Ms. Toni Hammett Worthy, 82, of Richmond, Kentucky formerly of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2025.
Toni was born on May 30, 1943, on base at Fort Benning, Georgia, as her father was stationed there, during his service in the military. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Inez Hardin Hammett. She was an avid animal lover and had a passion for rescuing animals of all kinds. She also loved to decorate, especially at Christmas.
Early in her career she was a radio operator for Eastern Airlines. When they ceased to operate, Toni went to school to become a court reporter. Eventually she became a court stenographer for the Superior Court of Georgia in Forsyth County retiring after 20 years of service.
Survivors include two daughters: Sherri Eckler (Mike) and Susan Todd; two grandchildren: Kristen Eckler and Jason Charles Todd (Marta) and their son Edgar; one brother; Keith Moore and two sisters: Cathy Moore Hamilton (Doug) and Paula Houston.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother: David Moore.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home, 328 West Main Street, with Mike Eckler and Pastor Virgil Grant officiating. Burial will follow at Madison Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive visitors Monday evening December 22, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Jason Todd, Timmy Chase, Doug Hamilton, Dwayne Eckler, Kyle Broughton, and Darryll Barger.
