Rest well cuz ♥

Sis, we miss you very much. We miss your conversations, your laughter, your kindness, your intellect, your compassion and all the other qualities that made you Tonita.

Love,
Sheron, Clinton, Christopher and Christina

Tonite was a friend of mine way back in kindergarten/Basic school in junction St. Elizabeth. I remember we'd walk down the hill from school together, I'd walk her a part of the way home and someone else would walk her the rest of the way. Once she emigrated here to the US with her siblings, we lost contact. It is with much sadness that this news of her passing has come to me. May her soul rest in peace.

A wonderful soul gone too soon. We take comfort in knowing the Lord knows best..... for I know the plans I have for you. Your light remains and shines on. Sleep in peace Tonita.

Lovely Eulogy to a beautiful lady! Rip

Gone too soon! A blessed soul who has left a legacy behind. R.I.P. beautiful Tonita you will live on in our thoughts and memory.

Rest in peace beautiful Tonita. You will be missed.

Sleep well sister. I love you!

I love and miss you Auntie Tonita ❤ Thank you for all of the laughs and smiles. You are the sun bringing warmth and happiness on hard days.

Tonita's Obituary

TONITA'S OBITUARYTonita Rennae Jacobs-Apessos was born in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica on November 10, 1981; to Neleta Alexander (formerly Jacobs. formerly Dixon) and Winston Jacobs. Tonita was the seventh of her many siblings. Tonita attended Junction Infant School, Ballard's Valley Primary School (for 2 years) and then migrated to the United States at age 7+. Tonita then attended AB Day Elementary , Houston Middle School and Girls High School in Philadelphia.  After high school, Tonita attended the Cittone Institute where she pursued her love for computers. She then held various jobs in Administration at The Center For The Achievement Of Human Potential in Chestnut Hill, Plymouth House Nursing Home in Plymouth Meeting and Independence Blue Cross in Center City Philadelphia. Tonita was very well loved and respected at all her places of employment. Tonita loved music and dancing and was always the life of the party. She was a curious and adventurous soul who spent a great deal of time on cross country road trips with her friends. Aunt Tita, as she was affectionately called by her nieces and nephews, was a loving caregiver and always made sure the little ones had whatever they wanted. She squealed with delight at all their various antics and they loved being around her. Tonita saw beauty in everything and appreciated everything no matter how minor. She was always laughing and her sense of humor kept a smile on everyone's face. Tonita's love for computers and video games led to her meeting her husband, Gregory Apessos. They were instantly in love and got married on October 1st, 2005. Greg and Tonita were true soulmates and at times seem to communicate without words as if they could read each other's mind. It was beautiful to behold.  Tonita and Greg did not have any children but had a love for cats. Their cats, Orlando and Vicious, preceded her in death. Hopper has been with them for three years and they recently adopted Tabitha. In June 2006, after numerous tests ,Tonita was diagnosed with a very rare form of Cancer. It affected her lungs and liver and she eventually also had to get her thyroid glands removed. Due to the ravages to her body from the numerous medical procedures Tonita lived with constant pain for the rest of her life. She was on numerous medications for pain and was not able to continue working or live a full life. Tonita enjoyed whatever she able to do. Her love for computers and video games continued throughout her life. She was the go to person for anything computer related. She was wise beyond her years and could spend hours talking with family and friends about any topic imaginable. She had a great love of travelling and spending time at the beach. She would light up when we planned family trips .She loved pools and could spend hours just relaxing in them. That was always the one requirement she had on any vacation; there had to be a pool. Tonita perfected the rare art of vertical floatation in pools, it was an amazing skill.Tonita was an avid reader and her home was always filled with books. Tonita had an amazing curiosity for all things Science Fiction, Life and the Universe. Although there have been many hospital scares over the years and numerous bouts with pneumonia, it was the dreaded Covid-19 virus that claimed Tonita’s life on Friday, April 17th 2020. Her body was just too immuno-compromised to handle the battle with that virus.Tonita is already missed!  She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Greg; her parents, Neleta and Winston; her stepmother Patricia; her brothers and sisters: Sheron Jacobs-Tapper, Donna Jacobs, Charmaine Jacobs Naut, Carmen Ann Jacobs, Robert Jacobs, David Jacobs, Susan Sinclair, Jodi-Ann Jacobs, Conroy Jacobs, Kenroye Jacobs, Deneille Jacobs and Sherica Bennett ; her parents-in-law, George and Coleen Apessos; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in law, Kalleen Jacobs, Kerry Jacobs, Roger Naut, Clinton Tapper, Lakenya Jacobs, George Apessos Jr ,Melissa Apessos,  and Michael Bennett; her nieces and nephews, Christopher and Christina Tapper, Caresse and Cosette Libier, Cambrie Naut, Brannon Jacobs, Nicolas Jacobs,  Alexis Jacobs, Ajani and Kai Jacobs, Jacob and Cody Apessos; Nichalia Sinclair, Jayla and Conroy Jacobs, Kenroye  Jacobs, Kurt-Patrick Knott, Rhodein Harvey, Jayden Sinclair, Jaelianna Jackson; great nephews, Jayce and Aiden; her many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Lovingly and Triumphantly submitted,THE FAMILY
