Tonja Jo Young, age 67, was called home to heaven on Friday, March 21, 2025. She passed away peacefully with her family at her side.
Tonja was born in Madison, WI on September 5, 1957 to the late Pahl and Ruth (Blank) Young. Her family moved to Manitowoc, WI when she was fourteen. She graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1975.
Tonja loved interacting with people. After high school, she spent many years working as a waitress and a nursing home aide, where she could put her social skills to good use. After having children, she worked as a lunchroom aide in the Two Rivers School District before eventually retiring.
Tonja’s greatest love in life was spending time with her family and friends (or talking to them on the phone). She was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, and Grammy. In her free time, Tonja enjoyed crocheting, making jewelry, and gardening, and she was an avid Packers fan. She loved helping others and volunteering — especially at the Mariners’ games.
Tonja is survived by her children, Robert (Krista) Krepline and Lucy (fiancé, Keith Kozaczuk) Krepline; grandchildren, Addyson, Malaina, Laytyn, Becky, and Robert; siblings, Pahl (Jacquie) Young, Kim (Steve) Kenaston, and Jeremy (Brenda) Young; and sister in law, Victoria Young. She is further survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Pahl and Ruth Young, her brother, Todd Young, and other family members including grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
