ANTHONY "TONY" ASHTON
Anthony John "Tony" Ashton, 75, of Satsuma, FL passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center in Palatka, FL.
Born in Providence, RI, Tony spent most of his youth in Warwick, RI. He had lived in Putnam County, FL for the past two years coming from Deltona, FL. He had previously lived in Foster, RI where he had been the owner/operator of the Breezy Hill Café. He served his country honorably and proudly for four years in the United States Air Force and was awarded a series of medals including the Air Force Commendation Medal while serving in Vietnam from Jan. 1968 to Jan. 1969. He held lifetime memberships in the Disabled American Veterans and National Rifle Association. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, classic cars, traveling, and working around his home, as he was quite the "handyman."
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Evelyn Louise Madonna Ashton; and a son, Corey James Ashton.
Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Paula Bjorklund Ashton; sons, Jerry Rhodes Prather (Carol) of TN; Corey John Ashton (Cristina) of FL, and Michael Ashton (Marie) of MA; daughter, Kelley Jean O'Connell (Kevin) of NH; a sister, Sandra Duffy (Lenny) of RI; eight grandchildren, Agnes Prather, Terry Prather, Amelia Ashton, Sam Ashton, Lily O'Connell, Kevin O'Connell, Theo Scotch, and Westley Anderson; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Graveside services with military honors will be held at a later date at Brevard Veterans Cemetery in Mims, FL with inurnment of ashes to follow.
