Trujillo Family Funeral HomeTony James Chavez “T-Bone” Born November 27, 1968, in Albuquerque, NM to Antonia and Manuel Chavez Jr., completed his earthly journey on October 12, 2025.
He is survived by his wife Rose, Daughter Suzette and partner Chris, son Alan and partner Shaina. A special granddaughter Malanie Rose “Lindas” Zamora and partner Izaih, grandsons, Arlo “Lindos” Zamora and Alan “Bubba” Baca.
His mom Antonia Chavez, brother Ken Chavez, sisters Diane Chavez and partner Ramon and Pamela Chavez and partner Robert.
Tony held a special bond with his uncle, Delfino Anaya, whom he considered a second dad. Special cousin Eugene Chavez Sr. whom he considered his brother. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his dad, Manuel Chavez Jr., and his special nephew, Fernando Benavidez.
Tony honorably served his country in the United States Navy during the Persian Gulf War. After his military service, he began his career with the U.S. Postal Service, at which time he met his wife, Rose. Together, they built their life in Chama, NM, raising their two children, Suzette and Alan.
Tony embraced the quiet beauty of the mountains and the outdoor life he loved. A true outdoorsman, he spent countless hours hunting, fishing, and making memories with his family and friends. He will be remembered for his generous heart, his humor, and his love for those around him.
Funeral Services
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Trujillo Family Funeral Home Chapel, 110 Alvarado Dr. SE, Albuquerque, NM 87108.
Interment with military honors will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.
A reception will be held at 2715 Granada Rd. SW, Albuquerque, NM 87105, where family and friends are invited to share memories and celebrate his life.

Ken Chavez, Alan Baca, Arlo Zamora, Chris Marquez, Eugene Chavez Jr., and Joseph Trujillo.

Celebration of Life
A Celebration of Life for Tony Chavez will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Jim Martinez at Chama Community Church in Chama, NM. A reception will follow.
Flowers in memory of Tony Chavez will be accepted at Trujillo Family Funeral Home.
