Tony Childers, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on September 20, 2025, at his home in Dardanelle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Geneva (Edwards) Childers; his brothers Charles Larry McDowell and Jerry Don Childers.
Tony is survived by his devoted wife and caregiver of 24 years, Francine Childers. He leaves behind his children: Traci Noblett and husband Stacey, Bob Childers, Julie Lane and husband Jeff, and Charles Williams (Deanie). His legacy also lives on through his cherished grandchildren: Anthony Parsons (Aaliyah), Katie Parsons, Harlee Childers (son Miles), Jacob Williams, Kaeli Williams, James, Maddie (Morgan), and Sadie Lane, and his Dear Aunt Fran, along with great-grandchildren.
Tony graduated from Clarksville High School and he then served in the Air Force. Once he completed service for his country, he began working with his Dad and Brother in Childers Brothers Trucking Co. He went on and over the course of 40 plus years ran several businesses and was the owner of Custom Wood Holding Company at the time of his death. He was a successful businessman who never met a stranger. He had a gift for making friends wherever he went, and once you met Tony, you knew and loved him. He was truly the life of the party – full of laughter, warmth, and kindness. Tony especially loved heading West whenever the chance arose, and those trips brought him great joy.
The last three months of his life, he was in hospice care with Jessie Evans serving as his at home nurse. She brought comfort and joy into the house each time she visited. Tony's memory will be treasured by his family, his countless friends, and all those blessed to share life with him. His presence filled every room with energy, and his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
Visitation will be held Friday, 5 to 6 p.m. at Cornwell Funeral Home Chaple in Dardanelle with a memorial service to follow at 6 p.m.
