Tony Choate, age 73, of Lebanon, passed away on June 7, 2022 surrounded by family. The Celebration of Life Service, conducted by Brother Darrin Reynolds and Pastor Jeff Pratt, is 4 p.m. on Friday, June 10, 2022 in the chapel of Sellars Funeral Home, Lebanon TN. Visitation is from 1 p.m. until the service at 4 p.m. on Friday. Inurnment will be in Smokey Mountain Memorial Gardens in Pigeon Forge TN at 11 a.m. Monday, June 13, 2022.
Tony Lynn Choate was born in Oak Ridge TN to Elizabeth Queen Choate and William Nelson Choate. He served in the United States Army during Vietnam. He married the love of his life, Jeannie, and together they raised two children. He loved God, his family and his country. He never met a stranger and had the gift of making everyone feel loved. He raised AKC registered beagles and did field trials with his brother Tim. Mr. Choate was a world traveler, but appreciated few places more than the ground on which his grandbabies walked. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jeannie Choate; children: Tonya (Glenn) Schroeder and Michael Choate; grandchildren: Elizabeth Schroeder (1 Lieutenant U.S. Air Force Matt) Fanelli, Grayson Schroeder, Haley Choate, and Katie Choate; brother: Tim Nelson (Nelda) Choate; and numerous nieces, nephews; and many special friends he counted as family. He is preceded in death by parents Elizabeth and William Choate, and siblings Charles Terry Choate and Gloria Norman.
