Tony L. Greuter, 52, of Anderson, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 28, 2024, after an unexpected and brief illness.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
He enjoyed target shooting, carpentry, and spending time with his family and friends. His greatest joys were being Gramps to his precious granddaughter, Kinleigh Pearl, and Dad to Abby and Trevor. Growing up, Tony cherished spending his summers with his grandparents at their farm with his sisters and cousins. He often shared memories of riding bikes, baling hay, and playing countless games of hide-and-seek and flashlight tag.
Tony made many memories of spending summers at the lake with Mary, Trevor, and friends. He enjoyed countless dinners at The Pub and Sleepy Owl, followed by playing cards with "the ladies" while the kids played and the sun set. He loved jumping waves with Trevor on the jet ski and relaxing on the patio, reflecting on the events of the day.
His heart was overjoyed when Abby blessed him with the title "Gramps" by giving him his best friend Kinleigh Pearl, whom he loved deeply. Every moment spent with Kinleigh was priceless to him, from
watching "tweet tweets" when she was a baby, driving 4 hours round trip so she could spend the weekend at Gramps' house, and having tea parties with her. He loved his family and friends in a quiet, simple, loving way. He always provided and sacrificed to ensure that Mary and their family were well provided for. He was loved unconditionally and will be missed tremendously. His spirit will forever be with those who knew and loved him.
Tony is survived by his soul mate and wife, Mary (Cox) Greuter, whom he met October 12, 1996, and married September 11, 2009; son, Trevor Ryan Greuter; daughter, Abby Nicole Boyer; granddaughter, Kinleigh Pearl Boyer; brother-in-law, James Smith (Dawn Seaton) of Greenfield; sisters-in-law, Jody (Rick) Harvey and Carol (Jerry) Hollen all of Anderson; sister, Brenda (Keith) Russell of Syracuse; nephews, Brandon (Brooke) Williams of Warsaw, Stephen (Linda) Hunt of Lubbock, TX, Shawn (Brooke) Hollen of Anderson and Zachary Naish of Syracuse; nieces, Emily Harvey (Farrah Figel), Chelbie Hollen (Justin Sheets), and Amber Hollen all of Anderson; nine great-nephews; four great-nieces; three great-great nephews, and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. He is also survived by his father, Floyd Ben (Beverly) Ellert of Auburn; and mother, Gloria Maple of Syracuse.
