Richard R. Wisner, 95, of Anderson, passed away peacefully on Oct. 24, 2025, at Community Hospital. He was born Feb. 12, 1930, in Anderson, to Ralph and Mary (Coy) Wisner. He graduated from Anderson High School in 1948. He grew up as a farmer in Anderson, where he lived all his life.
Richard had many professions throughout his life. He served in the army for 2 years as a mailman stationed in Germany; worked 35 years at the United States Postal Service where he later retired; worked at three K-Mart stores in the sporting goods section; and spent 17 years volunteering at Operation Love Ministries’ food pantry.
He had strong values, a servant’s heart and incredible patience. He loved helping others, and his warmth and charm made him loved by everyone.
Richard is survived by his son, James L. Wisner; granddaughter, Sarah Wisner (Grady); grandson, James E. Wisner (Carly); and several beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Virginia (Norris) Wisner, whom he married on Sept. 11, 1951; sons, Daniel Wisner and Michael Wisner; grandson, Christopher Wisner; and brother, Ronald Wisner.
The Wisner family would like to express our deepest appreciation to Richard’s longtime friend Anita Widener, whose kindness and dedication made all the difference in Richard’s final years.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, Oct. 30, 2025, from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., followed by the funeral at 1 p.m. at Bozell Funeral Homes - Brown-Butz-Diedring Chapel, 515 E. 53rd Street, Anderson, Indiana. Burial services will take place at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery after the funeral.
Richard's services have been entrusted to Bozell Funeral Homes.
