Tony G. Matone, born on Friday, May 26, 1961, in Frankfurt, Germany, peacefully passed away on Saturday, February 14, 2026, in Independence, Louisiana, surrounded by his loving family.
Tony was an avid fan of sports, especially football, and held a deep affection for LSU and the New Orleans Saints. His passion for sports was a significant part of his life, bringing him joy and camaraderie.
He is survived by his daughter Amy Matone Bate and son-in-law Wayne Bate; his son Thomas Maxwell; his daughter Savannah Rose (Jared); and his grandsons Brandon Collura and Rico Matone, as well as his granddaughter Kodie Sky Maxwell. Tony will also be remembered by his sisters, Diana Gros (Mike) and Nina Brooks (Alvin), alongside his brothers Silvano Matone (Delores) and Albert Matone. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews, as well as his beloved dog, Macy Mae.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Clem and Laura Matone, and his brother Sandro Matone.
His love for his family and his enthusiasm for life will be cherished in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
A Celebration of Tony's Life will be held at a later date.
