In loving memory of Larry Martin Matone

July 8, 1943 - July 19, 2025

Larry Matone, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at the age of 82.

Larry is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Deborah, whom he married on June 8, 1993. His legacy continues on through his children Michelle (Michael) Martin and Mark Matone, and his grandchildren Lauren, Emily, and Dakota Martin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nat and Ida Matone, who instilled in him the values of hard work and commitment. He also leaves behind his sweet dog, Stormy, whose loyal companionship brought him comfort and joy in his later years.

At the age of 18, Larry enlisted in the Air Force, serving his country with honor during the Vietnam War. His patriotism and courage were hallmarks of his character throughout his life. Larry embarked on a successful career in the automotive industry. Spending the last 23 years with Michigan Motor Exchange in Detroit, where his charisma and expertise made him a respected figure. Even earning the title of "Uncle Larry".

Larry's passion for health and fitness led him to become a weightlifter at the age of 45. His dedication to personal improvement was an inspiration to many, leading him to share this passion with others, and help them embark on their fitness journeys and goals.

Music was another of Larry's greatest loves- an accomplished drummer, gracing small audiences with his talent and love of the art. And continued to spread the passion of music onto his grandchildren.

Larry's life was a testament to the power of resilience, the importance of family, and the joy of following one's passions. His unforgettable laughter, generous spirit, and unwavering integrity will be deeply missed by all who knew him. As we say goodbye to Larry, we celebrate a life well-lived and a man deeply loved. His memory will forever be a guiding light of love and strength for his family and friends.
