Barbara Ann Agnes Vinton, a beacon of selfless love and unwavering faith, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2026, at the age of 78. Born on February 20, 1947, in
Detroit, MI, Barbara's life was a testament to her loving spirit and dedication to her family and faith.
Barbara, known affectionately as Barb to her friends and family, spent her early years in Berkley before answering a lifelong call to service in the medical field. A proud graduate of Berkley High School, she furthered her education at Wayne State University, where she earned her degree in Medical Technology. Her career spanned many years at the Royal Oak William Beaumont Hospital, where she worked diligently as a Medical Technologist, and she continued to touch lives through her volunteer work even after retirement.
Her dedication to her faith was evident in her over twenty years as an associate with the Sisters of Mercy and as a lifelong parishioner of Our Lady of La Salette Church. Barbara's compassionate nature and Catholic values were the cornerstones of her life, guiding her actions and interactions with everyone she met.
Barbara was a woman of many interests, including a love for the uplifting melodies of Anne Murray and the comedic charm of the movies "Sister Act" and "Sister Act 2." A true Detroit sports enthusiast, she shared her passion with family and friends, cheering on her favorite teams with joy and enthusiasm. However, her greatest joy was found in the time she spent with her beloved grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
Predeceased by her parents, Margaret and Peter Vinton, her brother David Vinton, sister-in-law Carol Vinton, her daughter Margaret Conneen, and granddaughter Annabelle Vinton. Barbara's legacy of love continues through her cherished family. She is survived by her devoted son Adam Vinton and his wife Angel Benner, her dear brother Michael Vinton and his wife Cathy Vinton. Her spirit will also live on through her six grandchildren, Riley Vinton, Michael Dorda, Nora Vinton, Tobias Vinton, Finley Vinton, and Luna Vinton, as well as several cousins nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.
Barbara's life was a living example of the Catholic virtues of faith, hope, and charity. She was a woman who embodied the grace of selflessness, the warmth of love, and the strength of faith. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. Barbara Vinton's journey on earth may have concluded, but her spirit continues to inspire and guide us from above. She will be deeply missed, but we take solace in knowing she rests in eternal peace.
