Gayl Woityra Obituary

Gayl Patricia Woityra, 92, of Maysville, Kentucky passed away on Monday, January 26, 2026, at Hospice of Hope Care Center in Maysville, Kentucky. Born in Detroit, Michigan on June 24, 1933, daughter of the late James and Donalda Penberthy. Gayl married Jerry, the love of her life in 1952 and started a family. She obtained her degree in English and taught humanities for many years. Gayl loved her students, writing, and volunteering for many organizations. She had an immense passion for animals and a strong desire to help others in need. Surviving are her two sons, Michael (Diane) Woityra and David (Kim) Woityra; six granddaughters; twelve great-grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren. A memorial visitation will be held to honor Gayl's life on Sunday, February 1, 2026, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Palmer Funeral Home in May's Lick, KY. Memorial donations may be made to your local animal shelter or food bank. Online condolences to palmerfuneralhome.net.
