Anthony "Tony" A. Moore, 72, of Oak Ridge, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2025, at his home.
Tony was born November 29, 1952, in Cape Girardeau, to Fred A. and Frances "Pat" Diamond Moore. He and Marilyn Wilhelm were married November 26, 1972, at St. John's United Church of Christ near Fruitland.
Tony attended Nell Holcomb and Notre Dame schools. His favorite classes were shop and auto mechanics.
Tony was employed at Strickert's Standard Service Station and then owned and operated Moore's Auto Service for 40 years, in East Jackson, retiring in 2014.
Tony enjoyed hunting and fishing and had a passion for collecting and restoring cars. He was a longtime member of St. John's United Church of Christ and the Harold O. Grauel Masonic Lodge in Cape Girardeau.
To cherish his memory, he leaves his wife of 52 years, Marilyn Moore of Oak Ridge; daughter-in-law, Amy (late Robert) Moore and granddaughters, Molly and Abby Moore; his siblings, John (late Ella Jean) Moore of Oak Ridge; Janet (Gary) Seib of Cape Girardeau; Pam Powless of Jackson; Edith (Randy) Kagy of Gerald, Missouri; Frances (David) Leimer of Jackson; sisters-in-law, Pat (late Harry) Moore of Cape Girardeau; Barb (late Tim) Moore of Cape Girardeau; numerous nieces and nephews; and Marilyn's family: siblings, Wanda (late Marty) Johnson of Mount Pleasant, Tennessee; Margaret(Jimmy) McNew of Burkburnett, Texas; and Ellen (Greg) Wann of St. Louis; and sister-in-law, Tammy (late) Raymond) Wilhelm of Shreveport, Louisiana; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Tony was preceded in death by his son, Robert Moore (1/30/2025); two infant children; his parents; siblings, Theda (Martin) Johnson; Harold (Sharon) Moore; Fred (Alice) Moore; Harry Moore; Tom Moore; Nollie (Rhonda) Moore; Tim Moore; Fred (Alice) Moore; two infant siblings; and Marilyn's family: parents, Emanuel "Butch" and Shirley Sievers Wilhelm; and brothers, Raymond Wilhelm and David (Andrea) Wilhelm.
Visitation is from 11 to 1:30 p.m., Thursday, July 17, 2025, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. Dr. Rodney Pensel will conduct the funeral service at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, July 17, 2025, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at St. John's Cemetery near Fruitland.
If considering a memorial, the family suggests St. John's United Church of Christ.
