Tony Gordan Neely, age 84 of Crossville, Tennessee departed this life on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at his home with his loved ones. He was born on February 23, 1940 in Oneida, Tennessee to the late JB "Ben" Neely and Alma Lorene Chitwood Neely.
Tony served in the United States Army from 1958 to 1964 as a member of the Honor Guard and subsequently served in Korea where he assisted in the training of indigenous soldiers. Tony was the owner and operator of Neely Tree Service and Captain in the Hebbertsburg Volunteer Fire Department. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and enjoyed riding 4-wheelers with family and friends. The highlight and most important event for Tony was annual week at Dale Hollow spending time with his family. His love of family and God was unmeasurable. Tony worshipped and was a member of Liberty Church.
In addition to his parents, Step-mother: Opal Kidd; Wife of 31 years: Virginia (Jenny) Orick of New River, Tennessee; Daughters: Terry Sue (infant), Lisa Johnson, and Kelly Espich; Siblings: Donna Ray, Joe Neely, and Virgil Neely; Sister-in-law: Jan Neely; Brother-in-law: Frank Orick;
Survived by his siblings: Fred (Doris) Neely and Bonnie Orick; son-in-law: Matt Espich; Grandchildren: Kim Johnson, Chad Johnson, Natalie (Jason) Leedy, and Emily (Wes) Hare; Great-grandchildren: Val, Haley, Avery, Ellie, Lucy, Lilly, and Dalton.
Tony is preceded in death by his wife: Jane Belvin Neely married 22 years and resided in Crossville, Tennessee; survived by his daughters: Nikki (Kurt) Quackenbush and Julie (Jason) Crittendon.
Tony is survived by his wife Ava Loveday Neely married 9 years and resided in Crossville, Tennessee; Children Jim Loveday and Vicki Loveday; Grandchildren: Jane, Maddie, Lilly, and Kate.
Graveside Service will be on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. (EST) in the Union Hill Cemetery with Bro. Eddie Davis Officiating. Full Military Honors will be provided by American Legion Post #136.
