Troy Anthony Summers, known affectionately as Tony to his friends and family, embarked on his final tour on October 28, 2024, just one day after his 60th birthday. Born in Flint, Michigan, on October 27, 1964, Tony lived a life that was as vibrant and spirited as the changing leaves of his favorite season.
Tony's early days set the stage for a life filled with laughter, music, and the kind of stories that could only come from a man as funny and interesting as he was. His sense of humor was as infectious as his smile, and he had a knack for turning even the most mundane moments into memories that would keep his friends and family chuckling for years.
Working at Harmony House for several years, he wasn't just an employee; he was part of the heart and soul of the place, brightening days with his quick wit and easygoing charm. His colleagues weren't just coworkers; they were part of his extended comedy troupe, each day a new skit or joke waiting to unfold.
Tony's siblings, Tawney, Kim, Patrick, Charise, and Richard, along with several nieces and nephews, will miss his impromptu karaoke performances that could turn a family gathering into a concert. His close friends, Brian Schmidt and Jody McCoy, will no doubt reminisce about the memories they had made with Tony
His love for music was as deep as the waters he fished in. Tony loved the sound of skillfully played guitar and craft of melodies that told stories, each note a word. When he wasn't serenading the stars or pocketing the eight-ball in a game of billiards, he was the life of the party, singing karaoke with a voice that could make even the most serious spectator crack a smile.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Virginia, his brother-in-law, Bill Sevenski, and his siblings, April, Debbie, and Rusty. They set the stage for him in the great beyond, ready for the day when he would join them and share his tales of earthly escapades.
To say Tony was friendly would be an understatement; he was the friend everyone wished they had. His departure leaves behind a legacy of joy and a treasure trove of moments that will continue to bring laughter to those who knew him. Tony's curtain may have closed on this world, but the echoes of his humor will resonate forever in the hearts of those who loved him. So here's to Tony-guitarist, comedian, and friend-whose final bow is not a goodbye but a standing ovation for a performance that will never be forgotten. A special thank-you to the staff and people of Harmony House, Villages of Lapeer, Community Mental Health, Rescare AFC, and Residential Hospice for taking great care of Tony over the years.
