Tonya M. Axsom, age 61 of Auburn, passed away on Monday, April 7, 2025 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.
She was born on December 27, 1963 in Auburn and was a graduate of DeKalb High School.
Tonya worked as the manager of her mother's antique store, JJ's Antiques & Consignment Shop in Fort Wayne, retiring in 2022. She loved antiques. Tonya was an expert and avid collector of uranium glass.
She loved her Momma, her kids and she loved being Mamo to her grandkids. She also loved her cat, "Baby Girl". Tonya enjoyed camping at Story Lake where she loved boat rides, fishing, campfires and sitting at her tiki bar watching sun sets. She also enjoyed playing pool at the clubhouse with her lake family. She had a green thumb and was a collector of house plants. Tonya will be missed!
Survivors include:
Her Momma, Mary Jane Cain of Auburn.
Son, Dustin Everage (Amanda) of North Manchester, Indiana.
Daughter, Rachel Everage (Tyler) of Churubusco.
Nine grandchildren, Karma Everage, Sylus Everage, Syrus Everage, Amara Everage, Hieremias Everage, Dominus Everage, Alaric Everage, Eli Griffin and Carson Griffin.
Brother and sister-in-law, John Cain, Jr. and Lanna of Fort Wayne.
Brother and sister-in-law, Adam and Kathleen Cain of Auburn.
Brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Pricilla Cain of Auburn.
Sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Glen Deetz of Auburn.
Sister and brother-in-law, Gail and Jim Denman of Angola.
Many nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family members.
Tonya was preceded in death by her father, John Cain, Sr.; son, Larry "Bean" Griffin and granddaughter, Kylie Everage.
The family will have services at a later date.
