Tonya D. Baxter, age 49, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2021.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, on June 13, 1972, she was a daughter of Carol A. (Foster) Baxter and the late Ross E. Baxter. Tonya graduated from Northeast High School in 1990. In high school, she took cosmetology and even though she didn't pursue it professionally, she was very good. She would normally only do hair or braids for family and close friends. Tonya worked as a medical records technician for the State of Delaware.

Tonya was very family oriented and loved to travel to places like Hawaii, Belize, and many of the states. She was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and the 76ers. Her love of the Eagles came from her mother. Tonya and her family would watch all of the games together. She loved eating crabs, and to sing and dance around the house. Tonya would sometimes just start singing in the middle of a conversation.

Tonya will be remembered as a mother who was devoted to her children and it was noticed by everyone who knew her. She was very proud of everything they did. Tonya went to every sport game or practice, dance, or award ceremony. This also stood for her only nephew and her grand-nephew. Many of her friends considered her to be their best friend. She would, for many of her friends, send them a sweet message every morning. Tonya was just a fun loving, beautiful woman with a beautiful spirit.

Tonya is survived by her son, Brian Crawford; daughter, Cydney Crawford; siblings, Carla Baxter and Bryan Baxter; nephew, Tyree Baxter; great-nephew Trenton Baxter; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.

All services will be held privately.
