Yorktown, Virginia- Our beautiful daughter, Torey Marie Hayes'Fay age 40, passed away on her birthday September 22, 2022, in Virginia surrounded by her family.
She was born in Stewart Fl, on September 22, 1982, a daughter of Daniel and Kandi (Wilson) Hayes. On July 18, 2009 she was married to Kevin Fay who survives. She was predeceased by her grandfather Robert "Bob" Hayes earlier in September.
Torey was first diagnosed with cancer at age 14, she fought 6 different types of cancer throughout her shortened life. She loved reading, being part of a trivia club, and spending quality time with her family. Torey was an exceptional teacher, respected by her peers, and loved by students. She taught 5th grade until landing her dream job as a math specialist.
Torey is survived by her husband, Kevin, and their daughter, Lillyanna Fay, her parents Daniel (Kandi) Hayes, her brother Nathan Hayes, her aunt, her grandmother Rose Hayes, several aunts uncles and cousins.
Friends may call Friday October 7th from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at the Hindle Funeral Home, Inc. 271 Main St. Dansville. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at St. Mary's Church on Saturday October 8th at 11:00 am. Interment to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery Dansville.

We met Torey in her capacity as our oldest son's teacher and credit her with much of his success and passion today. She was a warrior for her students and made every topic and moment special, infusing her special blend of energy and understanding into everything she touched, making previously unreachable goals reasonable building blocks for previously unimaginable heights. Special in every way, we were all blessed to have her in our lives even for a short time. Thank you for sharing her with us and all the other families she touched. The Drapers (Falls Church)
