Deacon Torray "Ray Ray" Shrome Grant was born on June 1, 1982, to the late Jacqueline Maryanne Horn and the late Ronald Roy Grant Sr. He peacefully entered eternal rest on November 9, 2025.
Ray Ray was raised in Gaithersburg, Maryland and attended Montgomery County Public Schools, graduating in 2001. He loved playing football. After high school, he worked at the Montgomery County Liquor Warehouse. He devoted his life to God and was baptized in 2010, and from that moment forward, his walk was rooted in faith. His love for the Lord changed him deeply. He didn't just go to church; he lived his life as an example of compassion, forgiveness, and service. Ray Ray had a heart that welcomed everyone. He was known for giving, encouraging, and lifting others up. He would give his shirt off his back for anyone. He was serious about worship and committed to staying close to God. Whether in person or online, he made sure he didn't miss service.
He leaves to cherish his memory his: siblings, Terron Horn Sr., Ronald Grant Jr., Schelay Grant, Craig Grant and Tislan Davis; nieces and nephews, Tyzhona Horn, Terron Horn Jr., Rashawn Williams-Grant, Alonzo Lyles, Elijah Lyles, Terron "Tre" Horn III, Anya Lyles, A'Lyah Grant, Chelle Grant, Craig Grant Jr., Carter Grant, Celba Grant, Chole Grant, Canon Grant, and Cain Grant; godsons, Larry Horn Jr. and Marcus Horn; one great-nephew, Jakier Overs; one great-niece, Masi'el Ross; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, family, and many friends.
Ray Ray was preceded in death by his: loving mother, Jacqueline Horn; father, Ronald Roy Grant Sr.; grandmothers, Susie Horn and Evelyn Grant; and grandfathers, Walter Jackson, Wayne Chase Sr., and Rayfield Grant. He was also preceded in death by several other beloved family members who surely welcomed him home with open arms.
Ray Ray will be truly missed, but his life remains a reminder to love deeply, forgive easily, stay rooted in faith, and hold family close.
