Tracey Lynn Gaines Mitchell, born on July 9, 1971, in Fort Thomas, Campbell County, Kentucky, departed from this life on October 3, 2024, in Edgewood, Kenton County, Kentucky. Tracey was a dedicated salesclerk currently working at K.O.I. Automotive in Carrollton. Her career also included a tenure in the Housekeeping Department at the Carroll County Memorial Hospital.
A graduate of Carroll County High School, Class of 1990, Tracey's commitment to her education laid a strong foundation for her career and personal development. Throughout her life, she demonstrated a fervent love for her church family at "The Refuge," where she was recognized as a prayer warrior with a profound love for preaching and spiritual guidance. Her faith played an essential role in her life, and she found great joy within her church community.
Tracey had a vibrant personality and enjoyed various hobbies, including crafting and shopping. Her creativity and passion for these activities brought joy not only to herself but also to those fortunate enough to share in her pursuits.
Tracey leaves behind a loving family who will miss her dearly. She is survived by her daughters, Whitney Gaines of Salem, IN, and Haley (Trey) Burgin of Carrollton, KY, and a son, Clayton (Nikki) Mitchell of Campbellsburg, KY. Also grieving her loss is her sister, Brenda Lane of Carrollton, KY, and her two beloved grandchildren, Liam Graville and Layne Spainhour.
Tracey was preceded in death by her parents, Paul "Doc" Gaines and Connie Sue and James Morrison, who are now reunited with her in peace.
The memory of Tracey Lynn Mitchell will live on in the hearts of those who loved her, as well as in the cherished moments she shared with family and friends. Her contributions to her community and her unwavering faith will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Mourning her passing, family and friends are invited to the viewing, which will be held on Sunday, October 6, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at The Pentecostals of Carrollton The Refuge. A funeral service will follow the viewing starting at 6:00 PM on the same day. A graveside service will take place on Monday, October 7, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Ghent Masonic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to The Refuge Building Fund in care of the funeral home.
Tracey's legacy of love and devotion will continue to inspire and uplift those she leaves behind.
