With deep love and gratitude, we celebrate the life of Tracy Denise Contino, a devoted servant of God, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and a cherished friend to many.
Tracy was born on September 16, 1967, in Portland, Oregon, to Robert and Carol Wagner. She grew up alongside her older brother, Chris Wagner, and was deeply rooted in faith at Zion Lutheran Church, where she found both spiritual strength and lifelong community. She attended Pilgrim Lutheran School and later Beaverton High School, where she met the love of her life, Walter Contino. The two married and built a beautiful life together, raising their children, Lindsey and Patrick.
Tracy earned her associate's degree from Portland Community College and worked in real estate before embracing her greatest calling-motherhood. When Lindsey and Patrick attended Pilgrim Lutheran School, she dedicated herself to running the school's lunch program, ensuring she could always be present for her children. Her love and devotion as a mother were unmatched.
As her children grew, Tracy transitioned to serve as the secretary of Zion Lutheran Church, where she also contributed as a Sunday school teacher, a member of the fellowship committee, the board of directors, and an elder. Zion was not just her church-it was her home, and its members were her extended family.
Later, she joined her husband, Walt, as the office manager for not one but two businesses they owned. She loved working alongside him, sharing an office space, and bringing their beloved dog, Bella, to work.
Above all, Tracy was a woman of unwavering faith, boundless love, and selfless dedication to those around her. She poured her heart into her family, friends, and church, always showing up with warmth, kindness, and a giving spirit.
Tracy is preceded in death by her father, Robert Wagner.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Walt Contino; her children, Lindsey (Eric) McDowell and Patrick (Emma) Contino; and her greatest joys-her grandchildren, Ainsley (3), Lincoln (2), and Jovie (1). She is also survived by her mother, Carol Wagner, and her brother, Chris (Lisa) Wagner, who will carry forward her love and legacy.
Tracy's life was a testament to her faith in God, her deep love for her family, and her commitment to serving others. Though our hearts are heavy, we find peace knowing she is now fully healed in the presence of the Lord.
A celebration of Tracy's life will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at 2:00 PM, at Zion Lutheran Church in Portland, Oregon. All who loved her are welcome to join us in honoring her beautiful life.
In lieu of flowers, Tracy's wishes would be to support the Blayke Gloeckner Endowment for Pediatric Epilepsy through the OHSU Foundation.
