Mr. Tracy Martin "Cooter" Carter

Tracy Martin Carter, "Cooter", passed away July 28, 2016 at his home in DeWitt at the age of 44. He was born December 2, 1971 in Monticello, AR to Tommy G. and Elaine Hodges. He attended school in Crossett, AR and graduated in 1991. He was baptized into the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn on September 29, 2002 by Bro. Ricky Fox. Later that year, he chose to make DeWitt his home. In 2007, he married Penny Evans. They shared 8 happy years of life together. Tracy had a great love for trucking and drove for several years, hauling grain and fertilizer. He was often found selling produce, which he looked forward to each summer. He is survived by his wife Penny Carter; step son Colby Evans and wife Laura of Almyra; daddy William Earl Carter and wife Kim of Crossett; mom Elaine Carter; brothers Tony and Richard Carter all of Seligman, MO; three grandchildren Peyton, Landon, and Kinsley, whom he loved greatly; niece, Sadie Cothron and husband Clayton; and two great nieces Evalynn and Bailee Cothron all of El Dorado. He was preceded in death by his father and son Benjamin Levi, who gained his angel wings at birth. Tracy was a firm believer in living for God and keeping his word. He would gladly share it with anyone who would listen. He would say, "I just want to do it right." Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 July 29 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be 2:00 July 30 at the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn with burial in Thompson Cemetery by Essex Funeral Home.
