Tracy Seymour Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Iles Jordan Creek Chapel on Feb. 23, 2026.
Tracy Lynn Seymour, 59, of Norwalk, Iowa, passed away on February 20, 2026.

Family will greet guests from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Iles Jordan Creek Chapel (7150 Ashworth Rd., West Des Moines, IA 50266). Funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m. Tracy will be laid to rest at Norwalk Cemetery following the service.

Tracy was born on December 10, 1966, in Leon, Iowa, to Victor and Dixie (Johnson) Seymour. He was a man who truly never met a stranger. Whether you were a lifelong friend or someone he had just met, you were treated the same - greeted with a story, a joke, and the kind of warmth that made you feel like family. He was known by a few proud nicknames over the years: "Mr. T" to some, "Boy Tracy" to others, and "He" to those who got a kick out of the fact that he and his beloved wife, Tracy, shared the exact same name.

Tracy loved the outdoors. Bow hunting was his time alone. Just about everything else he did, he wanted company. Fishing, golf, the drag races, even working in the garden - it was never really about the activity. It was about the people he was with. He lived for the competition, the trash talk, and making everyone around him laugh.

More than anything, Tracy was a family man. He never missed one of his kids' sporting events, and if you needed help with something, he was the first one there, no questions asked - though he was far too stubborn to ever ask for help himself. That was just Tracy: loyal, present, and always showing up for the people he loved.

He leaves behind countless memories filled with laughter, late nights, and stories told more than once, along with a reminder to always stay a little longer and enjoy the moment. Tracy's presence was larger than life, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved him.

Tracy is survived by his parents, Victor and Dixie Seymour; his wife, Tracy; his children, Megan Seymour and Caleb Seymour and his girlfriend, Marizela Jimenez; his brother, Scott (Jodi) Seymour; and his nephews: Christopher (Courtney) Seymour, Tyler (Taylor) Seymour, Conner Seymour and his girlfriend, Maddie McCarty, Nate (Leah) Mateer, and Cole Mateer.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Tracy's name may be directed to the Iowa DNR Fish and Wildlife Trust Fund.
