Traian entered glory on early Friday morning, December 17, 2021. He was born in Alibunar, Yugoslavia on March 15, 1941. He is survived by his wife, Tana, and children: Marijana, Nick, Lily, and Robert. He has one living brother, Yon, in Macedonia.
Traian was raised in a large, poor, farming family, so he worked hard from an early age. In Yugoslavia, after serving his country, he worked for a fire department for some time. He met Tana, his wife, in Macedonia and they would have their first child in Yugoslavia. They came to the United States (via Austria) in April of 1970. Traian lived in New York and worked in various occupations, mostly doing maintenance work as a superintendent in New York's high rise buildings. Traian became a man of faith right before he was baptized on February 23, 1975 in Union City, NJ. In October of 1979, he was ordained as a lay minister in the Nazarean Apostolic Christian Church. He moved his family of six (including his mother) to Ocala, FL in 1981 and started a small congregation of believers in Belleview. He worked at the Closetmaid factory in Ocala for several years, which he considered to be one of his most pleasant work experiences.
In 1989, he moved his family to South Florida, where he felt called to serve as a minister in a Romanian church in Hollywood. He resumed his work as a maintenance man as well as becoming a landlord until his retirement. He enjoyed having company over and spending time with family. Traian was great at making sausages and he loved his peppers (which, in his native language, was actually the family nickname, since they were known for growing them). He enjoyed playing soccer as a young man, but his favorite leisure activity became meditating on the Scriptures. He would spend long periods of time on his knees in prayer. Traian did not have an advanced education, but he knew what mattered most in life: Faith, Family, and Friends. The world was a better place when he was in it. And that is a legacy that's hard to beat.
Traian Trifu was a well respected and humble man, who lived for His God and Savior, Jesus Christ - Who finally welcomed him into His immediate presence earlier this month.
He expressed that his greatest desire would be that all his children serve the Lord with great enthusiasm as good witnesses for Christ our Lord, staying faithful to the very end.
