Surrounded by her two courageously strong daughters, her beyond beloved grandsons, and the love of her life, Man, Tran Buu Banh passed away after her fierce battle with blood cancer on January 22, 2025, in Bountiful, Utah.

She was born in Cholon, Vietnam on April 6th, 1946, to Banh Thoai Phat and Ha Thi Lien and was the eldest of three younger sisters named Chau Banh, Nancy Banh and Karen Banh and also had two brothers named Thomas Perng and Ping Banh. She had a childhood filled with cherished memories such as any other fun-loving girl and held on to her youth sacredly throughout the rest of her life. She loved her family and took every step to ensure the happiness of those she held close with exceptional kindness and generosity.

Tran met Man through her parents. Upon introduction, a relationship soon sprouted. Days, months, then years passed as they continued and eventually joined in the hands of one another through the eternally bond of marriage.

Tran welcomed her eldest daughter, Cindy and recalled the day as “...one of the happiest moments a Mother can have.” Two years later, Tran welcomed a wonderful second addition to the family, her daughter, Wendy.

Soon after the birth of her Daughter, Wendy, Man had taken to Hong Kong abruptly to join his family in migration. Tran wished to remain with her two Daughters in Vietnam and continued to take care of them as a single Mother.

Through many hardships, Tran persevered as a single hardworking Mother of two beautiful daughters who loved and cherished her strength deeply. With enduring determination, she secured legal immigration to the United States so that her two daughters could find prosperity. She arrived in the United States and continued her resiliency as a single Mother. Working several jobs at a time, Tran spent countless days and nights commuting from job to job so that she could feed her daughters, provide schooling, and keep a roof over their heads. After many years had passed, Tran and her daughters reunited with Man in the United States and continued living their lives together as a loving family.

With striking determination and strength, Tran lived to see her Daughters blossom into successfully independent women with families of their own. Cindy, welcomed her son, Dustin into the world as Tran’s eldest Grandson and Wendy welcomed her son, Nathan into the world as Tran’s youngest Grandson. Both Dustin and Nathan became Tran’s priorities, it was as if they were children of her own and immediately became her proudest achievement in life. Tran always held a love for children. Even past the age of childhood and into adolescence, the ones she held most dearly were always seen in her eyes such as those of a loving mother.

Tran Buu Banh is survived by her beloved Daughters, Cindy (Travis) Khong and Wendy (Thong) Nguyen. She is furthermore survived by her dearest Grandchildren, Dustin and Nathan.
