Travis Lee Bailey age 88 went to be with our Lord and Savior on January 18, 2025 in Cross Plains, TX. A graveside service for Travis will be held at 11AM on Friday, January 24, 2025 at Wolf Valley Cemetery in May. A visitation will be at Heartland Funeral Home in Early on Thursday, January 23, 2025 from 5 to 7PM.
Travis was born on October 26, 1936 to Eura D. Bailey and James A. Bailey in the Wolf Valley Community. After graduating from May High School, he joined the 'Plumbers, Pipefitters & Service Tech. Union' in 1955 and was a member for 70 years and was the owner of 'Brownwood Mechanical Contractors' for 44 yrs. Travis married Von Dell Dillard March 7, 1958 and they were married for 67 years.
Travis loved to hunt and fish in younger years and in his later years, enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and great grandkids. He was an especially loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather and always had a smile on his face for everyone. Travis was a man of few words but was a great listener. He was a wise man and always told his kids "If you listen instead of talk, you will learn more". Travis will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved him until we are all once again reunited in the Kingdom of Heaven.
Travis is survived by his beloved wife, Von Dell Bailey; daughters Tina Bailey-Hart of Houston, Sandy Bailey-Low and husband Monty of Abilene, and son Robby Bailey and wife Peggy of Cross Plains, his grandchildren; Britt Hart and wife Chae, Clinten Bailey and wife Jessica, Trent Hart and wife Kristin, Chase Hunter and wife Carrie, Candice Bailey-Gebbia and husband Elliot, Kailea Rose and husband Caleb, great-grandchildren; Addison Hart-LaQuey and husband Corban, Tyler Hart, Kyla Hart, Rhett Hart, Ainsley Bailey, Caige Hart, Harper Bailey, Hudson Bailey, Madalyn Gebbia, Maddux Gebbia, and Aubrey Hammond. Along with extended family and numerous friends.
Travis was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, D. Wayne Bailey and Gerald D. Bailey.
