Travis Chester, 31, of Miami, passed away on Friday, May 23, 2025, in rural Roberts County, Texas.

Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Briarwood Church, with Brother Michael Davis, pastor of First Baptist Church of Miami, and Billy Hall officiating. Burial will follow at the Christie-Tipps Ranch. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.

Travis Bryan Chester was born on May 28, 1993, in Lawton, Oklahoma, to Les and Gayla Chester. He graduated from Pampa High School in 2011. After high school, Travis pursued various ventures in the oil field, the trucking industry, and established his own business, TC Spraying.

On March 3, 2018, Travis married Kylee Schumacher—a day when boldness met resilience, ambition met hustle, and something extraordinary was born. That something special was their life together. Entrepreneurs at heart, Travis and Kylee worked side by side to grow their businesses, ultimately finding their home at the Christie-Tipps Ranch. There, they raised their two beloved children, Kreek McCrae and Henry Clay (H.C.).

Travis adored his children beyond words. He was proud of them in ways that couldn’t be measured. There was nothing more important to him than being the best father he could be—and he was. He loved to rope and joke, had an eye for good horses and cattle, and devoted time to serving on the Roberts County Volunteer Fire Department. He also attended First Baptist Church. Travis found mentorship and brotherhood in his lifelong friend and coach, Billy Hall, who walked with him through ranching and life.

Travis was always hustling, always chasing something bigger. While others saw the world as it was, Travis saw what it could be—and then made it happen. Cold calls, bold moves, closed doors? They were just part of the journey. And if you knew Travis, you knew he was never afraid to pick up the phone. He didn’t have small dreams; he wasn’t wired that way. While others laughed, doubted, or hesitated, Travis had already moved—always one step ahead, already putting skin in the game before anyone else even realized there was a game.

Then came June 28, 2024. Travis gave his life to the Lord—not with a whisper, but with a whole heart. And from that moment on, everything changed. It wasn’t a dramatic event for the world, but for Travis and his family, it was everything. He wasn’t perfect. The road ahead wasn’t easy. But Travis was different. He started reading the Word like his life depended on it—because he knew it did. When storms came—and they did—Travis no longer ran or folded. He fought. He clung to his faith. His heart had been claimed by the Savior, and he lived like it. He laid down his old life and rose a new man. From that day forward, he kept seeking, growing, and fighting—not for his own name, but for the Name that saved him: Jesus, his Savior.

The wild guy everyone used to know. He was still bold, still dreaming—but now his boldness pointed to Christ, and his dreams were soaked in purpose. He spoke about grace more than success, about mercy more than money.

Travis is survived by his wife, Kylee, of the home; daughter, Kreek Chester; son, Henry Clay (H.C.) Chester; mother, Gayla Garnett and husband Mat of Pampa; father, Les Chester and Lacey of Cement, Oklahoma; siblings, Lesley Casper and husband Wyatt of Miami, Steton Chester of Pampa, Tara Williams and husband Coda of Colony, Oklahoma, and Jessica Lesperance and husband Tyler of Weatherford, Oklahoma; mother- and father-in-law, John and Vikki Schumacher of Boise City, Oklahoma; sister-in-law, Stormi Mosimann and husband Rem of Kim, Colorado; nieces, Cheyenne Casper, Sorrell Mosimann, Riggen Mosimann, Abilene Mosimann, Azrielle Williams, Chasydi Lesperance, Payton Lesperance, Acelyne Lesperance; nephews, Cooper Casper, Hunter Williams, Logan Williams, and T.J. Lesperance; and numerous extended family members.
