Travis Carl Dreessen (1994-2025)

Travis passed away peacefully on October 16th after a short, but incredibly fierce battle with Leukemia. He had passed with all his loved ones by his side. Travis was incredibly loved by so many and will be forever missed. Travis' son Thomas will know how wonderful and loving his dad was. He will know what an amazing father Travis would have been.

Travis was born on Fairchild Air Force base in Washington on July 20th, 1994. He grew up living on different Air Force Bases in the United States and in Europe, finally settling in Texas in 2009. He is survived by the Love of his life his Fiancé Abigayle Miles, parents Carl and Nancy Dreessen, Sister and brother-in-law Darla and Grant Gregory, paternal grandma Mary Dreessen, maternal grandparents Dave and Judy Taylor, Father and Mother- in law Dustin and Carmen Miles, Brother-in-law Wyatt Miles, Grandma-in-law Cindy Conklin, his spoiled fur baby Leia Mae; and many cherished Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. Predeceased by his Grandfather Amos Ray Dreessen.

Travis had fought a very brave and fierce battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. He was diagnosed in July and underwent two rounds of aggressive chemo treatments. Never once did he even think about giving up or surrendering to this horrible disease. Unfortunately, in the end, due to complications from AML, Travis lost his hard-fought battle.

Throughout his life Travis practiced Kuk Sool Won martial arts and earned his black belt. He was also an avid bowler and very proud to have reached a perfect 300 game, which he was very excited to rub in his sister Darlas face. Travis was very proud to have gone to school and received his HVAC certification, which he bought a frame for and hung up right away. Travis loved having game nights with his Fiancé's family where monopoly was always played and having Trivia nights with his family. Travis loved watching his Texas teams, the Cowboys, the Rangers, and the Stars. He was slowly turning into a Chicago Bears fan, only for Abigayle. Travis enjoyed going to the Rangers games and Stars games. Saturdays were always for watching the Texas college football teams, where he always tried to explain ranked and unranked teams to Abigayle. Sundays were for watching the Cowboys and the Bears games, Travis would either order wing stop or smoke meat on the smoker. He was an excellent chef, when it came to cooking on the smoker, grill, firepits, or inside anything he made was always extremely delicious. In his free time, he loved to build and grow the Lego collection, with his Star Wars Legos being his favorite. Travis always said that one of the best weekends of his life was with Abigayle going to the Texas Rangers game, seeing Scotty McCreery at the North Texas State Fair, and going to a Metallica concert at AT&T Stadium. Travis' favorite vacation was with Abigayle, where they started the trip off by visiting the NASA Space Center in Houston. Then they had traveled down to Galveston to spend two nights exploring the city, relaxing on the beach, and going to Moody Gardens. After two nights in Galveston Travis and Abigayle had boarded for A cruise, where they visited Mexico and Chichen Itza and the bluest water they had ever seen.

The proudest moment of Travis' life was when he found out that he was going to be a dad, he had always talked about wanting to have a big family. In July Travis and Abigayle had a gender reveal where they found out that they were going to have a son, Thomas Ray. The same day Travis had proposed to Abigayle surrounded by their closest friends and family. Soon after he had found out he was going to be a dad, Travis was determined to get rid of his car and he purchased a cherry red Chevy truck that was the safest for Tommy to ride in.

Travis loved all the friends and valued all the friendship he had made. Some of his best friends, Brandon, Jason, and Jose have so many cherished memories and stories with. Travis had learned how to ride a motorcycle with Brandon and Jason and loved going on camping trips with them. Brandon and Jason always said that Travis was an incredibly fast runner. Travis also had an incredible bond with his Brother-in-law, Wyatt Miles. Travis had bought Wyatt his first Lego set, which they did together. Travis loved Wyatt like he was his own little brother from day one.

A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
