Travis Jude Riley, recently of Holly Ridge, unexpectedly passed away on February 18, 2025, in Jacksonville, NC, at the young age of 34. He was born on July 20, 1990, in Albany, NY, to his loving parents, Thomas Riley, III and Lisa (Luther) Riley. He leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love and friendship that will be cherished by all who had the privilege to know him.
A man who loved to work, Travis spent his professional life as a dedicated warehouse employee, where he was respected by his colleagues for his hard work and reliability.
Outside of work, he enjoyed spending time with his friends, family and his beloved dog, Kobe who was his constant companion. A lover of music, he found connection in melodies that spoke to the soul, often sharing this passion with those around him. His adventurous spirit led him to the thrill of skateboarding, where he found both freedom and expression.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving sister, Jillian Riley, and her partner, Eric Beach, of Lake Luzerne, NY; his cherished nieces and nephew, Austyn Gerow, Finlee Beach and Blake Beach with whom he had special bonds with. Travis found great happiness in being part of their lives and treasured every moment spent with them. He is also survived by many other beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Travis will be sorely missed by all who knew him personally, they will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edgar and Sylvia Luther (lovingly called Bumpa and Nanna); grandmother, Marlene Marie Riley; great-grandparents, Harold and Charlotte Sparhawk; and uncles, Keith Luther, Marc Luther, and Timothy Riley.
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date and details will be announced by the family.
Travis was a gentle and kind-hearted soul, known for his loyalty and non-judgmental nature. His greatest gift was his ability to connect with people from all walks of life. To many, he was more than just a friend; he was a source of warmth and sincerity, always ready to lend a helping hand despite any struggles he was facing.
While he might have left us physically, his spirit and wit will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew him.
