I have come to this page more than once with a heavy heart. Travis Weatherly was and is one of the most impactful people in my life. He was a boss, a friend, a second father, an older brother, and a true mentor to me for the forty years he and I worked together. We fished, hunted, played golf, and raised our families during those years. I never ran into a single problem that he did not have an answer for. In many cases he would pull things out of thin air as we all sat back to hear him pontificate a solution. I remember many times looking at a fellow team member to say, "be quiet he is on a role, this is going to be good."
What means more than any one thing I can say here would be... I loved Travis for the man he was and for the man he helped me become. There is no more honor than I can give him than to say I loved him for that. There were tough times in our forty years as it is with anyone who spends this much time with someone. Travis always found a way to help me find the light in something and overlook the darkness. This applied to everything, as mad as he could get at something, he always came back to the light with me... this is why I cherished him so much.
In all the advice Travis gave me through the years, there is one piece of advice that has stood with me from the first time I heard him say it.
He said, "Just do the right thing, you know what is right, no matter where you stand, do the right thing and it will always work out".
I will miss you my friend, I will see you on the other side some day in all of Gods glory with my fishing pole and shotgun in hand...safe travels

I remember Travis“ first day at Stone Mountain Elementary school in the 6th grade. We became great friends many years later right after high school. Lots of great times while we were on summer break from UGA. Seems like yesterday. RIP Travis. My prayers for the family.

Travis was a great friend. We had lots of fun together while in high school and college. He was the Best Man at my wedding in 1978. RIP my friend and thoughts and prayers are with your family.
