Trena Yvonne Buckner, 60, of Millington, Tennessee passed away peacefully on November 19th, 2025 and went home to be with The Lord.
She was born on August 27th 1965, in Memphis, Tennessee. She was the daughter of Paulette Lambert and Virgil “Butch” Kuykendall
Trena was a member of Rosemark Full Gospel church, where she found joy and strength in her faith. She had a servant’s heart and spent much of her life as a loving caregiver- whether tending to family, friends, or those in need, she poured out compassion and kindness to everyone around her. She loved watching her favorite shows- Alaskan life, tattoo competitions, all the soap operas, & especially The Challenge. Trena loved to have visitors. Always welcoming with an open heart and a warm smile. She especially loved her Dr. Peppers.
Ms. Buckner was preceded in death by her late husband, David Buckner, her mother Paulette Lambert, and her father Virgil (Butch) Kuykendall.
She is survived by Robert Dustin Gardner (son), Destinee Kourtney Gardner (daughter). Her sisters Laurie Turner, and Lisa Headley. (Pops) Steven Lambert, and her faithful companion Sweetpea - the sweetest dog. And by her much loved nieces, nephews and extended family.
The family wishes to express deep gratitude for the care provided by Dustin, Destinee, Janie, Laurie, Lisa and the compassionate team Gentiva Hospice who were nothing short of spectacular, and helped in any way possible. Lisa provided encouragement from afar- along with many others. Janie spent all her time with Trena and made her as comfortable as possible. Laurie and Destinee were close by and regular visitors to help her with needs both day and night and constant companions to doctors visits and treatments. Dustin helped daily with nutrition, dressing changes, and encouragement. Always offering positivity with a smile and of course poking a little fun. Lisa drove very long distances numerous times to help take care of Trena, making her smile, keeping her comfortable and keeping the lord’s spirit with her. Always willing to cook special requests!
A memorial service celebrating Trena’s life will be held at Rosemark Full Gospel on Saturday, November 22nd, with visitation between 3-4PM and service to begin at 4PM. The church will open at 12pm for the receipt of flowers.
