Trena Hartog Meeter

Trena Hartog Meeter, age 97, went home to the Lord on Friday, December 16, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. Trena was born in Haledon, NJ and had lived in several locations serving alongside her husband, Rev. Martin Meeter ministering in various Reformed Churches throughout the United States. Most recently, Trena resided in Lakewood, NJ, Michigan and Long Island, NY before becoming a resident of Wyckoff in 2011. Prior to her retirement, Trena was a Preschool Director at Martin Reformed Church in Martin, MI and taught commercial subjects at Eastern Christian School. She was a former member of Faith Reformed Church in Midland Park and most recently, a member of Abundant Life Reformed Church, Wyckoff. Trena was predeceased by her husband, Rev. Martin Meeter on June 8, 2012, and a daughter, Thelma Lois Meeter in 1951. Surviving is her loving and devoted family, Henk (Elizabeth) Meeter, Rev. Dr. Daniel (Melody) Meeter, Ruth (Tom) Linton, Paul (Deb) Meeter, Ella Lynn (Jim) Deneau and Bill (Jodie) Meeter. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Monday, December, 19, 2022 from 9:00 – 11:00 AM at Abundant Life Reformed Church, 475 Lafayette Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ, followed by a Service of Witness of the Resurrection at 11:00 AM. The interment will take place on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at Brigadier General Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ. Arrangement are entrusted to the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff, NJ.
