I just learned from the Calvin Spark of the passing of my friend, Glenn Meeter. We became acquainted while he was a professor at the University of Southern California and I was a professor at UCLA. We also attended the first Christian Reformed Church in Los Angeles, CA. One of our most delightful experiences was a camping trip in the Sierra Nevada mountains of California. Joining us were our friends Marvin Kosters and Tom DenOuden. All of us attended Calvin College in GrandRapids, MI. We were humored by Glenn's fascination with the mountain frogs. He was convinced that fishing in one of the alpine lakes would be fruitless, since the frogs were jumping into the water with "reckless abandon", thereby suggesting that there were no fish to consume them. Glenn's wife, Marlene and I grew up in the Platte, South Dakota area and, in that context, I enjoyed reading Glenn's thoughtful "Stories of Four Decades". He was a treasure. God bless you Glenn and my condolences to his beloved family. Dean Bok, Professor of Neurobiology and Ophthalmology Emeritus, UCLA.

Dr. Meeter encouraged me in his class when I was suffering in ways I could not speak of. He never knew, but I hope he does now.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. Glenn was a kind professor with a gentle way. I looked forward to his classes. He remembered me years after my graduation. He kindly critiqued my manuscript, which later was published. I'll remember him
