Our beautiful, loving, full hearted Trina, age 40, passed away November 25, 2022, and returned home to her Heavenly Father after a long battle with depression and addiction.
She was born on June 14, 1982, to Rick and Vonda (Christenberry) Kennedy, in Ogden, Utah. Trina was raised by mother Vonda McLean and stepfather Bob McLean, along with father Rick.
Trina was raised in Eden Utah, attending Snowcrest Jr. High, graduating from Weber High. She continued her education in Stevens-Henager where she received an associate degree in E-Commerce and Accounting. Trina married Tevis Dixon on December 12, 2003. They were blessed with 3 beautiful daughters, Anique LaPriel, Taydree Ana, and Zuri Nicole. They later divorced after 16 years of marriage but remained best friends as they coparented their three daughters together. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day-Saints. She was currently working at Teleperformance as a Chase Bank Representative.
Trina loved spending time with her daughters and found immense pride in watching them grow. They were her greatest joy. She lived her life with her love for them showing in everything she did. Trina loved camping and riding the Razor. She loved thrift shopping and yard selling. She was always looking to find treasures that she could keep or flip. She had the biggest heart and was always thinking of others and ways that she could help them. Trina was kind to everyone, especially those unaccustomed to kindness from others. She had a way of finding those in need of help and a loving embrace. Her own life struggles and challenges helped her empathize with others and make them feel loved. She always had a radiant smile and vivacious personality. She was always doing something silly or cracking jokes to make others laugh. She was a huge lover of animals and often found strays that she could bring home and take care of or find homes for.
Trina is survived by her parents Bob and Vonda McLean, brothers Ryan (Marissa) Kennedy and Travis (Tabitha) Kennedy, sister Jamie Kennedy, stepbrother Clint (Heather) McLean, stepsisters Laurie (Travis) Frost and Mindy (Austin) Henderson, best friend and former spouse Tevis Dixon, daughters Anique, Taydree, Zuri Dixon, uncles, nieces, nephews, all whom she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her dad Rick Kennedy, grandparents LaVere and Donna Leavitt, Fred and Elaine Kennedy, Thomas and Gloria McLean. We find comfort in knowing that are all enjoying a happy reunion. Trina will be missed by all.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 9, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah. Friends may visit with family from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. prior to the service at the mortuary.
