Tristyn Barger, 18, of Lincoln, passed away January 22, 2024 due to injuries sustained in a car accident.
Visitation will be from 4-8 PM Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 31, 2024 also at the funeral home with Pastor Larry Crawford officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Cemetery.
Tristyn was born September 6, 2005 in Lincoln, IL., the son of Heather Elza and Kodie Barger. He attended Lincoln Junior High School where he was active in wrestling and attended Lincoln Community High School. He was employed at Eaton. Tristyn loved fishing and the outdoors, kayaking, and grilling out. He loved cooking and was mastering the art of making beef jerky. Gaming and basketball were also interests of Tristyn's. He was a mama's boy with a big heart and a goofy personality. He was a friend to everyone and would drop everything to help someone out. He often worked alongside his mentor, Casey on home improvement projects and was a quick learner. He was especially proud of his car. It was his dream car.
Survivors include: his mother Heather Elza (Sonny Logan), dad Kodie Barger (Julie), father figure Casey Sowers; siblings: Metayo Barger (Hope), Raige Barger (Skylar), Zach Barger, Trinity Barger, Austin Sowers, Ashlyn Sowers, Grant Logan, Lilly Newman, Noah Dunham (fiance Rachel), Haylee Dunham, and Nicholas Dunham; maternal grandparents: Susan Elza, Barbara Sowers, Mike Danley, Donna and Randy Burgett; paternal grandparents Debbie and Larry Dunham; Maternal great grandparents: Lorraine Riemann and Joy Blair; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, and nieces and nephews: Malakai Barger, Alex Silva, and Nova Barger.
