Troy Joe Carvell, age 84, of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, August 26, 2025. He was born on July 19, 1941, in Giles County, Tennessee, to the late R.A. Carvell and Nora Searcy Carvell.
Troy lived a full and meaningful life. A 50-year Mason, he valued fellowship and service. He was an avid golfer and a longtime coach of Little League, where he influenced and encouraged many young players through the years. Troy and his beloved wife, Linda, enjoyed line dancing together for many years, traveling often, and making memories with family and friends. He attened Deerfield Baptist Church and lived his life with lovable stubbornness, humor, and generosity.
Above all, Troy was a family man. He and Linda shared 63 wonderful years of marriage and together raised three children: Missy (Chuck) Hunter, Scott (Dana) Carvell, and Sloan (Brooke) Carvell all who survive him. He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren, Josh Story, Justin Story, Chad Hunter, Jacob Carvell, Jessica Carvell, Jordan Carvell, Jase Carvell, Lauren Wright, and Abbiney Story; along with 16 great-grandchildren and one on the way. He is also survived by his sisters, Daphene Cope, Luthene Polk, Tammy (Terry) Pierce, and Monica (John) Sanders.
Troy was preceded in death by his parents, R.A. Carvell and Nora Searcy; his brother, Michael Carvell; and his brother-in-law, Mickey Cope.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 7, 2025, from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM at the Lawrenceburg Golf and Country Club, where family and friends will gather to honor Troy’s memory.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association in Troy’s memory.
