Ishpeming, MI- Troy Eric Peters, age 48. This world lost a beautiful soul on November 1, 2024, Troy Peters. A loving husband, father, son, "twinner," brother, and friend. Troy passed of an apparent heart attack in the loving arms of his twin brother.
Troy was born in Ishpeming, Michigan on May 14, 1976, a son of Elizabeth Ann (Huhtelin) Peters and the late Thomas L. Peters. He graduated from Westwood High School, Class of 1994. He excelled in sports while in high school.
Troy worked as a service technician for Charter Communications/Spectrum. He was proud of his work and received an award for the top technician for Charter in the state of Michigan. He would even give his personal cell number to his elderly clients, so they could call him whenever they needed assistance.
Troy loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and metal detecting. His favorite hunting spot- the hunting tent "nevagitshit." He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed playing sports with his son Jackson and watching his favorite sports teams, the Tigers, Redwings, Dolphins, and the Michigan Wolverines. He was a member of the Moose Country Snowmobile Club. Troy loved time spent with his family and friends.
Troy is survived by his wife Jenna (Brancheau) Peters, whom he married on August 16, 2014, a son Jackson Peters, his mother Liz Peters, siblings- Todd (Tami) Bessner, Brad (Jackie) Bessner, Lisa (Scott) Etelamaki, Thomas "Tombo" W. (Karen) Peters, his twin brother Terry (Jessica) Peters, nieces and nephews - Nicole Bessner, Chelsea (Gust) Juntilla, Travis (Morgan) Bessner, Emily (Chris) Piette, Brittany (Adam) Mohrman, Brooke Etelamaki, Adalyn Etelamaki, Eric Etelamaki, Tommy Peters, Jarl Peters, Johnny Peters, and Tyler (Patty) Potila, Madison Marta, Isabelle Marta and Olivia Marta, Brandi (Mike) Hainault, Todd (Amber) Brancheau, Dustin (Rachel) Brancheau, Heidi (Jeff) Carter, Jason Bravata and Trisha (Jacob) Scmidt, his mother-in-law Marilyn Brancheau, sister-in-law, Christy (Tony) Marta, brother-in-laws Troy (Tammy) Brancheau and Chad (Jessica) Brancheau. Along with many great nieces, great nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends. He will also be missed by his canine companions Axel and Ruger.
He was preceded in death by his father Thomas Peters, nieces Leanne Bessner and Trista Peters, father-in-law Ernie Brancheau and sister-in-law Rene Bravata.
Troy's family will greet relatives and friends from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm on Sunday November 10, 2024, at the Bjork and Zhulkie Funeral Home where his funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm with Pastor D. Michael Carriere to officiate.
Pallbearers will be Tombo Peters, Terry Peters, Brad Bessner, Todd Bessner, Scott Etelamaki, and Tyler Potila, Honorary Pallbearers will be Tony Marta and Brian "Morty" Morcom, and Casey Peters.
A luncheon will follow the service at the American Legion Greenwood Post #114, 3050 Co. Rd. 496.
Interment will take place in the Ishpeming Cemetery.
