Troy Vernon Ray, 55, of Hartford, CT departed this life peacefully on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at Hartford Hospital.
Troy was born on March 2, 1967, in Hartford, CT, to Maggie Turner and the late Leroy Wilkes. He received his GED from Simsbury High School.
Troy loved to dress. He loved going out to dance, do wine tasting and treasure hunting at yard sales. There was a time when he took his oldest brother and their mother to one of his spots, where he announced to them, "Welcome to Troy's world" and they watched him really perform and everyone had a good time. Troy was a joy to be around. He was quick with his jokes and spared no one when was joked with them. He was a beautiful person and you felt it when you were around him.
Troy was preceded in death by his father, Leroy Wilkes. He is survived by his mother, Maggie Turner, his brother, Kennard Ray, his sister, Mary Ray, his brother, JB Ray, his aunt, Sarah Johnson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
