Tucker Frederick Nielson, 47, passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2025. His bright spirit, curiosity, and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Born on August 3, 1978, in Salt Lake City, Tucker was the son of Gordon Keith Nielson and Susan Gay Morris Nielson. He grew up surrounded by cousins, forming close bonds within the Nielson, Workman, and Morris families that shaped his joyful and connected childhood. Tucker attended the University of Utah, where he earned a bachelor's degree in English. It was during this time, shortly after returning from a full-time LDS Church mission in Rome, Italy, that he met the love of his life, Alysha Marie Curtis, and they were sealed together in the Salt Lake Temple in May 2002. Together, they built a beautiful family and raised their four children-Capri, Roman, Karoline, and Clara- in the Daybreak area, creating the same cousin-filled, family-centered upbringing Tucker had cherished as a child.
Tucker was an entrepreneur at heart. Over the years, he immersed himself in sales, fundraising, and product development, often juggling several ventures at once with enthusiasm, creativity, and endless optimism. He was an Eagle Scout, a hard worker from a young age, and proudly worked at Primary Children's Hospital while putting himself and his wife through college.
A man of many passions, Tucker was endlessly curious about the world. He loved reading, nature, airplanes, and bird watching, and he was a budding aviator with a deep love of flying. He had an exceptional gift with words; his clever writing and insightful mind made him a natural storyteller, one who, as his family lovingly noted, could have written this obituary better than anyone. Tucker was known for his kindness, his eagerness to learn, and his ability to make everyone feel valued and supported. He never spoke ill of anyone and had an unmatched talent for making people feel like he was their biggest fan.
Tucker faithfully served in the LDS Church, both as a missionary and later as a devoted leader and mentor to the youth. He cherished these relationships and found purpose in helping young people grow and succeed.
He is survived by his wife, Alysha; their children-Capri (18), Roman (18), Karoline (15), and Clara (12); and many extended family members who loved him deeply. His legacy of love and loyalty remains strong among all who were blessed by his presence.
Tucker will be remembered for his fierce devotion to his family. He was profoundly proud of his children and spoke of them often with admiration and love. To those who knew him, Tucker was a friend to everyone-an attentive listener, a wellspring of encouragement, and a man who valued learning, physical fitness, and above all, family.

Tucker often said, with a signature smile and sincerity, "My wife is hot." It was his favorite line-not out of humor, but out of pure, unfiltered pride in the woman he adored. His devotion, humility, and warmth will never be forgotten.
