Twila Fern (Reese) Delling, 87, of Nixa, Missouri, passed from this life and entered into her eternal glory on February 26, 2025, surrounded by her husband and children. Twila was born on August 6, 1937, in Shannon Country, Missouri, to Melvin J. and Vera Maurine Reese.
Twila was united in marriage to John F. Delling on August 6, 1955. They have enjoyed a beautiful life of nearly 70 years together and raised three children, Jana Mashburn, Randa Cobb, and Brian Delling. Twila was blessed with a beautiful voice and used her talents to serve in her church choirs throughout her years. Her strong faith in her Lord Jesus Christ has sustained her throughout her life as well as through many ailments and surgeries. In fact, she attributed her long survival of Pancreatic Cancer and surgery in 2007 to her Heavenly Father, prayer, and faith, above all else. Twila was an artist at heart and was offered a position as a card illustrator with Hallmark Cards in Kansas City, Missouri right out of high school, but decided instead to marry her love, John Delling. Twila continued her love for art throughout her lifetime and became an excellent quilter in her later years. Her loved ones have several spectacular examples of her quilting skills to remember her by.
Twila is proceeded in death by her brother, Rex “Gabby” Reese, her parents, Melvin and Maurine, and her sister, Melba Hill.
She is survived by her loving husband, John, of the home, her children Jana Mashburn (Dave) of Kingsville, MO, Randa Cobb of Nixa, MO, Brian Delling (Karen) of Republic, MO, eleven grandchildren; Joshua Barton (Nixa, MO), Matthew VanBuskirk (Lee’s Summit, MO), Amy Conrad (Austin, TX), Emily VanBuskirk (Lee’s Summit, MO), Caroline Osborn (Kansas City, MO), Kayla Delling (Republic, MO), Sylvia Wiseman (Springfield, MO), Meagan Delling (Republic, MO), Nicklaus Cobb (Cathedral City, CA), Clint Peregrine (Ontario, Canada), Arianna Cobb (Nixa, MO), and eighteen great-grandchildren; and a large host of family and friends.
The family is hosting a memorial service which will be held at Hopedale Baptist Church, Ozark, MO, on March 15, 2025, at 2:00 p.m.
Flowers can be delivered to Hopedale Baptist Church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, Missouri and cremation rites will be accorded to Adams Crematory.
