Football. Basketball. Golf. Badminton. He was our sports guy. He counted down the weeks until football season. Every Monday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, from September to February, you knew he was paying extra for YouTube TV, just for his football. He loved his Dallas Cowboys through all the seasons. Every year was "their year". And even though they're still working hard on that, Tyler never loved them any less.
Tyler Kenneth Dixon entered this world on February 18th, 1986 to Cathy and Mike Dixon on Ellsworth Air Force Base in South Dakota. Throughout his school years, he was known as the class clown, and everyone's friend; a reputation that followed him the rest of his life. His mom and dad dragged him all around the USA as he grew up. He's visited the faces of Mount Rushmore, seen Niagara Falls, built snow tunnels in New York, swam the beaches of Florida, fished the bays of Mississippi, and eventually made Texas his forever home where he shared the best life with all of his family. Tyler always took his role as a big brother seriously.or not. Whether it be going 90mph with his two preteen sisters in the back of his silver Pontiac Sunfire, introducing inappropriate music and Adam Sandler movies, or traumatizing his youngest two sisters with horror movies, he loved his sisters with all his heart.
More than the Dallas Cowboys, he loved his four boys. As compensation for sharing a bathroom with sisters for sixteen years, God blessed him with his four boys. His oldest, Cash, rocked his world and brought out a side of Tyler that became his main mission in life: fatherhood. Soon, Jedidiah followed, and then Owen. Tyler devoted his life to his boys, and recently welcomed his fourth precious boy, Beau; officially solidifying his role of being a boy dad.
Tyler married the love of his life, Danielle in October of 2021. Whether it be going to concerts, being professional food critics, or watching junk TV, Tyler and Danielle loved each other deeply and crammed a lifetime of memories into the two precious years they had together.
Tyler took with him the kindest, most gentle heart. We will forever cherish the years we had with him. His soft, gentle voice, his big brother hugs and his IT abilities. Who is going to fix our phones now?!
While surrounded by family, Tyler met Jesus face to face on January 3, 2024 at the age of 37. The insatiable, gaping wound he leaves behind is only made whole by knowing he is healed and whole and that we will see him again one day.
Join us in all your Dallas Cowboys gear as we celebrate the beautiful life of Tyler Dixon on Tuesday, January 9th at 10AM at Christoval Baptist Church. Graveside burial will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. The visitation will be Monday January 8th from 5-7PM at Harper Funeral Home.
In the words of Dave Matthews Band, Ty's favorite.
"My voice is soft, but oh, my heart roars!"

I was blessed to meet Tyler when I started working for MHMR Concho Valley. He was very well known throughout all of our buildings because he was our IT go to. Tyler was very personable and could make you laugh. We shared many conversations about my knowledge with computers and always jokingly asked why I didn't apply at NewQuest. Tyler would always count on me to help him through minor IT issues that could be handled via phone. Tyler was an amazing person to be around and brought so much joy to everyone he encountered. His smile and laughed could light up the entire room. He will be truly missed. My condolences to his family and friends.
