Tyler Maddux

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Tyler Maddux, a cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend, who departed from this world on April 8, 2025, in Batesville, Indiana. Born on August 9, 1991, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Tyler graced the lives of many with his warmth, spirit, and unwavering passion for life.

Tyler was the beloved son of Laura Gillum and Troy Maddux, who provided him with unconditional love and support throughout his journey. He leaves behind his dear siblings: Lindsey (Ryan) Sherman, Aaron Kraft, and Karrah Holman and his grandmother Shelby Gillum, each of whom held a unique place in his heart. As a loving uncle to Oliver, Ava, Edyn, Reese, Shelby, Louise, Zach, and Bella, he brought joy and laughter into their lives, sharing in their dreams and adventures. He also leaves host of special aunts, uncles and cousins.

In his formative years, Tyler found great joy in participating in soccer and wrestling; these sports enriched his youth with camaraderie and competition. His passion evolved over time, leading him to skateboarding, where he embraced the thrill and the freedom it offered. Most recently, he cherished playing tennis alongside his mother, creating beautiful memories together.

Tyler's life, though tragically brief, was illuminated by friendship and laughter. He held a deep appreciation for the bonds he cultivated, most notably exemplified in his gratitude for Joe Hughes from Blacklist, whose unwavering support and companionship did not go unnoticed.

Tyler also carries with him the loving memories of those who have gone before him – his brother Jacob Maddux, his grandfather John Gillum, as well as his grandparents, Eldon and Fay Maddux and his cousin Andrew Brunsman.

A memorial gathering will be held on April 18, 2025, at 4:00 PM at Dalbert, Woodruff & Isenogle Funeral Home, with a memorial service following at 5:00 PM. This occasion will serve as a celebration of Tyler's life, allowing all who knew him to share their stories and honor his memory, A traditional wake will follow at Willie's Sports Cafe Hidden Valley, Indiana.
