Tyler Norwood, 33, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, December 16th, 2025. He was born May 8th, 1992, in Columbus, Ohio, to Michelle Norwood and Gregory Yost. Tyler was a lifelong resident of central Ohio and a graduate of Marion Franklin High School in 2010. While in high school, he also completed his fire certification through the Columbus Downtown Career Center, earning his fire certificate that same year. He went on to further his education at Columbus State Community College, where he achieved his paramedic certification in 2018.

Tyler devoted his life to serving others as a firefighter, paramedic, and CPR instructor. He began his career with the Columbus Division of Fire. After obtaining his paramedic certification, he went on to serve as a firefighter/paramedic with the Clinton Township Fire Department and the Truro Township Fire Department. As a CPR instructor, Tyler took pride in teaching life-saving skills and empowering others to help in emergencies.

Tyler was deeply committed to his profession and took great pride in helping others during their most difficult moments. He was known for his dedication, compassion, and strong sense of service, and he will be remembered for the lasting impact he made on his community and those who worked alongside him.

Preceded in death, his great grandfather Clarence Norwood, great uncles Frank Norwood and Ben Norwood, great aunt Mary Jo Norwood, and aunt Makeia Norwood. 

Also, surviving are his mother and father, Michelle Norwood and Gregory Yost, his great-grandmother Emma Norwood, his grandmothers Anna Norwood and Betty Reed, his daughter, Elays Norwood, his child's mother, Destinee Lynch, his twin brother Tyron Norwood, his younger brothers, Gregory Norwood and Jordan Norwood, and his partner, Christy Benson, his uncle, Anthony Norwood, his friend, and Angela Smith, his nephews Cordae, Carter, Josiah, and Jeremiah Norwood, his nieces, Camille, Kennedy, and Ilya Norwood, and his service family, including his brothers and sisters of Truro Township Fire Department, and Clinton Township Fire Department, as well as those he served alongside at several other departments throughout his career.
