Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, Mr. Tyler Vaughan Snead, 32, loving husband of Kaylee Key Snead and devoted father to Violet Vaughan Snead and Eleanor Anne Snead.
Tyler was a native and lifelong resident of Augusta, GA. Whether on the canal, the river or exploring its historic sites, Tyler loved everything about his hometown. Raised in the Catholic faith he attended St. Mary on the Hill Catholic School and was a 2010 graduate of Aquinas High School. He often returned to his alma matter to cheer on and coach his beloved Fighting Irish. An accomplished student and history major, Tyler earned his bachelor’s degree in political science and master’s degree in public administration from Augusta University. While in college he was a star in the model UN and did internships with Johnny Isakson and Rick Allen. He was a member of St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church, Board member of the Irish American Heritage Society, Knights of Columbus - Patrick Walsh Council, Ancient Order of Hibernians, Summerville Augusta University Alumni Board, and held several leadership positions of the Augusta Rugby Club. He was a generous supporter of the Aquinas High School football program. He was Executive Director of the Augusta Canal Authority, a job he loved since he loved the canal so much. Tyler was the family historian, investing countless hours curating stories and lineages of the Casey, Vaughan and Snead lines. He was a trusted confidant to many; always with an ear, a hand or a truck to lend. He was a devoted father who loved his children endlessly. The family comedian, he was loved by everyone who knew him. His humor was second to none and his gentle heart endeared him to all who knew him.
