Obituary published on Legacy.com by Short Funeral Home - Delmar on Dec. 24, 2025.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Tyler James Wright, age 24, who left us far too soon on Friday, December 19, 2025. Tyler was born on November 24, 2001, in
Salisbury, MD, and grew up in Delmar, where he made countless memories with friends and family.
A proud graduate of Delmar High School, class of 2020, Tyler was not just a student but a spirited athlete. He played on the football team and was part of the state championship team in 2017, showing incredible dedication both on and off the field. He also lent his skills to the team's videography. He was also on the wrestling team for all four years of high school. An outdoor enthusiast, Tyler loved hunting and fishing, and he was known for his playful wrestling matches with family and friends. His stubbornness and competitive spirit made him who he was - a vibrant, fun-loving person who brought joy to everyone around him. Tyler was often called "one of the best people" anyone had ever met, and he had a gift for making people smile.
For the past four years, Tyler served as a service technician at General Refrigeration Company, where he formed lasting friendships. His love for the Philadelphia Eagles and the 76ers was unwavering, and he couldn't resist a good day on the golf course.
Tyler's family shared precious moments with him, including a memorable trip to the 2023 Super Bowl with his Poppy, and daily phone calls to his beloved Gimmy. He was truly the first and beloved grandson and a fantastic brother to Hunter.
Tyler will be deeply missed by his loving family, including his parents, Lloyd and Shannon Wright, and brother, Hunter Wright. He was also cherished by his grandparents, Shelli and Andy McGill, Deborah and Victor Wright, and Harry and Jacqueline Harsh, and his great-grandparents, Charlotte and Ken Yoder. Tyler leaves behind many aunts and uncles, Jeremy and Victoria Harsh, Jarad and Karen Harsh, Justin and Danielle Wright, Maria and Ernie Clark, Sherry and Cisco Rivero, April Wright and Brandon Heisey; and many cousins and friends who adored him. He is also survived by many close and distant friends and their parents, and coaches and teammates who have been like family along the way and helped shape his life and shared countless memorable moments with him.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Lloyd and Linda Wright, great-grandparents, Harry and Myra Harsh, and cousins, Austin Wright and Jeremiah Harsh.
A celebration of Tyler's life will be held at Delmar High School, 200 N. Eighth Street in Delmar on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at 11 AM, with visitation from 9 AM to 11 AM. We invite everyone to come dressed in your favorite sports attire, just as Tyler would have loved.
In memory of Tyler, contributions may be sent to Delmar Athletic Boosters, 13 E. Grove Street,

Tyler James Wright will forever live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be missed but never forgotten.
