Tyson Joseph Petrie, 46, of West Fargo, ND, passed away on September 10, 2024, in his home.
Tyson was born on July 4, 1978, to Merle and Debra (Pulcznski) Petrie in Long Prairie, MN. His family moved to Dilworth, MN, where he grew up before moving to Moorhead in 1991. He attended St. Anthony’s, Shanley, and graduated from Moorhead High School. He then went on to attend MSUM where he graduated with his bachelor’s degree.
He worked at SEI Information Tech in Fargo before beginning his career at Sanford in IT Management where he has worked ever since.
Tyson had a passion for his Jeep in which he travelled across the country attending Jeep Jamborees and off roading events. His favorite Jamboree to attend is in Moab, UT. He enjoyed Minnesota Gopher and Wild Hockey, occasionally attending games with his brothers. He also enjoyed playing youth hockey in Moorhead as well as earning numerous awards and recognition as a BMX racer. He had a love for all things Star Wars; his Jeep’s license plate read Order 66, and inspired the name of his Yorkie, the love of his life, Kneesaa. He was very close to his family and will be sorely missed.
Tyson is survived by his beloved Yorkie, Kneesaa; mother, Debra Olson; grandmother “Naww”, Janis Pulcznski; siblings, Trevor (Jackie) Petrie, Shannon (Alan Johns) Novak, Trent Petrie, and Jordan Olson; nieces and nephews, McKenna, McKayla, Skylar, Jovyn; and many other loving relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Merle; grandparents, Norbert Pulcznski, and Albert and Lydia Petrie; and infant brother, Todd.
Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., followed by the celebration of life service at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, September 14, 2024, at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN. A livestream of the service will be available here on Tyson's webpage.
