Ursula Tillberg Robinson

1939 - 2026

Ursula Hanneliese Tillberg Robinson (Nennstiel), age 86, was born on July 24, 1939, in Bochum, Germany, and passed away on Friday, January 23, 2026, at CentraCare - Cura Care Center in Sauk Centre, Minnesota.

Ursula grew up in West Germany during and after World War II, living through bombings, displacement, and the devastation of war-experiences that shaped her lifelong faith, resilience, and strength. From 1958 to 1961, she studied midwifery in Wuppertal, Germany, and went on to work for many years as a midwife, proudly delivering more than 5,000 babies-each one she considered a miracle.

In 1970, after exchanging letters overseas, Ursula married Dennis Tillberg of northern Minnesota. She immigrated to the United States in 1971, where they raised their family in Roosevelt and later Warroad, Minnesota, until Dennis's death in 1996. Ursula later married Jerry Robinson, and together they spent her later years in Little Falls, Minnesota.

Throughout her adult life, Ursula worked in Minnesota's hospitality industry as a front desk clerk and night auditor, continuing to work until the age of 85. She also found joy in writing poetry and authored the memoir Alusru: Her Tears Became Pearls in 2017. In her later years, she fulfilled a lifelong dream of traveling to Jerusalem.

Lovingly known as "Oma," Ursula will be remembered for her strong faith, generous spirit, and enduring strength.

Ursula is survived by her husband Jerry Robinson; her children Pamela Lezer (Troy Lezer), Michael Tillberg, Chris Tillberg, Daniel Tillberg, and daughter-in-law Brenda Blume (Chris Blume); her grandchildren Katherine Lee (Jacob Lee), Jessica Baggett, Emanual Pederson, Jacob Lezer, Ariel Lezer, Abigayle Tillberg, Emma Tillberg, Danielle Tillberg, and her grandson-in-law, Aaron Blume; her great-grandchildren Karrah, Berkley, Beau, Lyla, Liam, and Luke; and her brother, Georg Nennstiel, of Germany.

She was preceded in death by her son, Ricky Tillberg; her mother, Margarette Nennstiel; her father, Ernst Nennstiel; her brother, Jurgen "Jorg" Nennstiel; and first husband, Dennis Tillberg.

A Celebration of Life will be held at The Royal Café in Little Falls, Minnesota, at 12:00 PM on Saturday, February 21, 2026.
