Uvon L. Dupuy, born on April 16, 1971, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2025, in her hometown. She was a beloved mother, sister, aunt, and friend who touched the hearts of many.
Uvon dedicated much of her life to her work at Smitty Lawn and Garden and Ralphs Supermarket. She took pride in her employment and enjoyed the camaraderie and connections she made along the way. Uvon was a graduate of St Amant High School and carried the lessons learned in those formative years into her everyday life.
Family was extremely important to Uvon. She cherished the time spent dining out and celebrating holidays with her loved ones. She is survived by her two daughters, Sandy Lott and Destiny Grisson, as well as her brothers Edcar Brown and Garfield Carter. Uvon's warm spirit leaves behind three grandchildren who will continue to carry her memory in their hearts. Uvon was also lovingly remembered by her aunt, Norma Hutchcraft.
Uvon is preceded in death by her mother, Sandra Roddy Harpole and grandparents, Brick and Pat Roddy.
In her later years, Uvon found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved the outdoors, admired flowers, and enjoyed playing bingo at her nursing home, where she brought smiles to many faces. Known for her big heart and positive outlook, Uvon was a sweet person with a heart of gold. She attended church at Midcity Rehab in Baton Rouge, where her faith was an integral part of her life.
Uvon faced the challenges of life with grace, battling health issues with strength, but she ultimately succumbed to sudden cardiac arrest following a long battle under dialysis care. She leaves behind a legacy of love and unforgettable memories for all who knew her. Uvon L. Dupuy will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
