Vada Amy Obituary
She was born April 27, 1930 at Ness City, Kansas, the daughter of Ed and Ethel (Kagana) Mauch. She attended grade school in Ness City and was a graduate of Dodge City High School. She was a longtime area resident and was a homemaker and farmer's wife throughout her life and had a love for animals.
She was a longtime member of the Minneola United Methodist Church.
On January 8, 1949 she married Wendell "Bo" Amy. He preceded her in death on November 5, 2010.
Survivors include: her daughter, LuAnn Elsey, Minneola; her son, Randy Amy and wife Rae Jean, Palacios, Texas; 3 grandsons, Craig Elsey and wife Tina and their children, Bo and Courtney, Jason Amy and wife Lauren and Jordan Amy and wife Kelsey and their children, Kayley, Jordy and Jett.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, her twin sister, Verda McCune along with 4 brothers and a sister and a son-in-law, Virgil Elsey, Sr.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 am Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Minnis Mortuary, Minneola, with Rev. Kip Ryherd officiating. Burial will follow in Appleton Township Cemetery, Minneola. Visitation with the family present will be Friday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Minnis Mortuary, Minneola.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Minneola Long Term Care in care of Minnis Mortuary, 1901 N. 14th Ave., Dodge City, Kansas 67801.
